DeAnna Duncan Grand

Just like the character declares in the first line of my all-time favorite movie, “I believe in America.”  So, from the get-go, I have chosen to work in the nonprofit sector with organizations helping to fulfill the promise of our American democracy for all.  And, like many of my colleagues at Unify America, this has led to a very squiggly career path that has taken me from Women’s rights to public interest law to arts management to education policy and research.  At each stop along the way, I’ve focused on fundraising, partnership engagement, strategic planning, and organizational development.  

Outside of work, my idea of fun includes hiking and wine tasting in the VA-MD-WVA area; theatergoing; spending time with friends and family on the West Coast; gardening and watching great shows and movies. I currently reside in Winchester, VA with my husband Stewart, mischievous cat Puck, and son Logan (whenever he’s home from college).
