I’ve always felt most at home in front of a whiteboard. So many of my favorite story ideas were born there: a couple bound together by an umbilical cord, a cryogenically frozen wife that returns home, and an alien that plants ideas in an artist’s brain with one poke of a glowing ET finger. For me, the whiteboard is the beginning of any great collaboration: brainstorming without fear and speaking nonsense without shame. On the board, everything has potential.
As a writer, I’ve had the pleasure of working in publishing, education, and film, collaborating with writers, teachers, and filmmakers to turn whiteboard scribbles into reality. After graduating from Florida State University’s College of Motion Picture Arts in 2020 with an MFA in Screenwriting, I knew I wanted to put my passion for story-telling into practice, building empathy and connections between real people like you, dear reader.
Writing is often a solitary sport, but I’ve always been more interested in playing on a team. In a time when the prevailing political narrative (that I don't subscribe to) is that Americans are incurably divided, I’m thrilled to collaborate with the creative team at Unify America that take whiteboard dreams like connecting Americans across the political divide seriously.
