Take the first step, break out of your bubble, and have a conversation with a fellow American about larger goals for our country.

What is the Unify Challenge?

Founded by Harry Nathan Gottlieb (Founder of JackBox Games and Jellyvision), the Unify Challenge is Unify America’s first step toward replacing politics with problem solving.

The Unify Challenge is like the Ice Bucket Challenge but with fewer ice buckets and more patriotic unity. You, along with another American who is different than you, come together on a video call to take a survey about some of the big issues we face today: healthcare, the economy, education, immigration, among others.

And guess what? It’s fascinating. When we have a face-to-face conversation (like two real human beings) about real issues, we discover that we can respectfully disagree and, in many ways…are not so divided.

Interesting! How does it work?

Start by answering a few questions so we can find you the perfect partner. Once you’re matched and scheduled, you’ll hop on a video call and take a survey about a wide variety of topics about life in America…together.

  1. Fill out a short questionnaire
  2. Get matched
  3. Get scheduled (we run Challenges daily)
  4. Get on the video call. We take care of everything.

Frequently Asked Questions

You will be paired with an American who is your political opposite—at least on paper—someone you wouldn’t ordinarily interact with. You may not always agree (and that’s the beauty of it!) but everyone does this with the best of intentions. You will take a survey together — it’s definitely NOT a cage match! 🙂

No. We help you schedule your Unify Challenge without ever sharing contact information.

Plan for about an hour. Sometimes it takes less time…and sometimes partners go longer because they are so interested in the conversation.

You will need a desktop or a laptop computer that you can use for a video call. The experience won’t work on a mobile phone. We will walk you through everything – it’s easy.

Break out of your bubble. It’s good for you!

Most of us live inside a bubble. It’s human nature to feel comfortable with “our own tribe”….but it’s also not so healthy for ourselves or our country. We tend to fall into group think and are weighted down by biases.

Take the Unify Challenge and sit face-to-face with a real human person (not on social media). If you think people who voted “for the other guy” or who watch that news station are, well… fill in the blank….you may be surprised.

Let's stay in touch.
