Paola M. Güell

Paola is a Costa Rican-American graduate student of International Migration at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. She graduated summa cum laude with a BA in Political Science and International Affairs from Georgia State University, where she first participated in the Unify Challenge and Deep Dive through her senior seminar.

Having attended high school in the rural Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania and university in the hearts of Atlanta and Washington, D.C., Paola has been exposed to many different sides of American culture and the spectrum of political thought, showing her the importance of a solution-oriented civic culture built on open-minded engagement and respectful dialogue.

Dedicated to public service, Paola earned the AmeriCorps Volunteer Service Award for 250+ hours of service in 2024. Her engagement with BridgeUSA and her internship in the U.S. House of Representatives through the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI), a bipartisan organization dedicated to expanding Hispanic diversity of thought, solidified her commitment to fostering collaboration across the aisle.

As an American citizen, and now as a member of the Unify America Student Advisory Board, Paola works to combat polarization by civically engaging fellow Americans across the political spectrum. Her goal is to show that despite our differences, we care about the same things: our liberties, our democracy, and the betterment of American society.
