Valerie Williams is a first-year student at Miami Dade College Honors College pursuing a degree in Political Science. She is deeply passionate about civic dialogue and bridging political divides, driven by a belief that meaningful conversation is essential to healing polarization in today's society. After witnessing the political climate in Washington, D.C., she gained a deeper understanding of how division and discourse shape national decision-making and how essential respectful, honest conversation is to the strength of democracy and social progress.
Valerie serves as a Director in Student Government, where she works to amplify student voices and promote civic engagement on campus. She is also an Andrew Goodman Foundation Ambassador and a member of the Unify America Student Advisory Board, through which she helps create spaces for students to engage across differences with empathy. As a member of the Debate Team, she has seen firsthand how listening, critical thinking, and dialogue can transform disagreement into understanding. Valerie hopes to cultivate a culture of unity, dialogue, and civic responsibility both on her campus and beyond.
