SUBJECT LINE: Will you join me? Unify Challenge

Hello,

I’m writing to you because you are the type of person who cares about our community and steps up to make it better. I recently learned about a program that’s happening across America, and wanted to share the opportunity to participate with you.

The program is called “The Unify Challenge” and it’s an innovative way to deal with how divided we’ve become. It invites Americans across the political spectrum to talk about issues that matter.

The Challenge is a one-on-one virtual conversation between folks who may have different political viewpoints or live in different parts of the state (or both). The conversation is guided and focuses on the top 10 issues that are important to Americans.

The Challenge dates are <insert dates>. To participate, you just pick one of those dates. It You join on an online platform similar to Zoom for about an hour at no cost. The nonprofits that run the program have been doing it with great success for the last few years. Over 90% of those who have taken the Unify Challenge would recommend it to others because it’s a good experience and way to do something about how needlessly divided we’ve become.

This is intended to be a model for other Americans to take on. Will you help out by participating with me? Please <link> to register and let me know when you’ve done so.

Cheers,

XXXX

What is the Unify Challenge?

The Unify Challenge is a live one-on-one online conversation (like Zoom) with another American who may live across the country and have a different outlook on things. The matched pairs talk through goals and issues that matter most in America from public safety and education to water and housing.

Why is it important?

Political division stops things from getting done. We all care deeply for our loved ones and for America. This challenge is cutting through all of the divisive noise out there to bring people together around our common humanity, goals, and solutions. We’re strengthening our democracy one conversation at a time. And we’re setting an example for the rest of the country!

Who can take it?

All Americans are welcome to participate.

When can it be taken?

How are people matched?

Our system tries to match folks who are political opposites first. Sometimes, people who are more politically aligned but are different geographically or demographically get matched. We have a special experience for those Challenge matches!

How much time will it take?

About an hour. Sometimes it takes less time… and sometimes partners go longer because they are so interested in the conversation.

What kind of computer setup is required?

Participants will need a desktop or a laptop computer that they can use for a video call. The experience won’t work on a mobile phone. We walk everyone through everything — it’s easy.
